TAKE SOME TIME OUT FOR LOVE * THE ISLEY BROTHERS * TAMLA MOTOWN 566 * UK
The Isley Brothers brought a different dynamic to the Motown sound, theirs was an individual style more energetic and forceful than the sophisticated almost 'laid back' sound of even the dance tracks from Motown. Take Some Time Out For Love is a case in point, in the hands of another Motown group and, say, produced by Smokey Robinson, it would probably be a mid tempo love ballad, but in the hands of the Isley's it is so packed with energy and dynamism in the two minuets and twenty seconds that they belt out the song, leaving not a moment to spare, that it almost seems to be in contradiction of the message they are delivering.
