WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY * THE MIRACLES * ORIOLE 1863 * UK

The B side to Mickey's Monkey and the groups twelfth release for Tamla, this side was a Robinson song, while the hit side was Holland and Dozier. The line up for this was still the original; William "Smokey" Robinson, Bobby Rogers, Ronnie White, Warren "Pete" Moore, Claudette Rogers (Robinson). Despite what might be thought by future generations; the young Modernists, who would have bought this record in the UK, did not, and were never likely to, dance any dance even remotely like a 'monkey', they were far to smart for that. And while, to an outsider, what they did do on the dance floor (they actually jived a lot) might have looked monkeyish it was not to them. What's more I suspect this was not the point of Holland and Dozier's lyrics
