BOOGIE WOOGIE COUNTRY GIRL * JOE TURNER * ATLANTIC 1088 * USA
Boogie Woogie Country Girl is as well made a R&B / Rock and
Roll record that could be wished for; its infectious top tapping beat hits from
the first four bars and is led all the way on through a joyous rolling groove by
the sometimes tinkling sometimes pounding piano of Van 'Piano Man' Walls and the
big exultant voice of Joe Turner.
Recorded in 1955 and released the following year as the B side to Corrina Corrina, in the US, and released in the UK as an A side to The Chicken And The Hawk.
