HANG UP MY ROCK AND ROLL SHOES * CHUCK WILLIS * ATLANTIC 1179 * USA

Written by Chuck Willis who irony seemed to follow around; as, during its heyday, this record became something of a Rock and Roll anthem. Another irony being, that although there was some outstanding Rock and Roll records made by black artists, the term really applied to white music while (if we must have categorisations,  he was a Rhythm and Blues artist. Also it's worth noting that, metaphorically and literally he was to really 'hang up his rock and roll shoes' forever not long after this release.
