WIN YOUR LOVE FOR ME * SAM COOKE * KEEN 2006 * USA
The Keen label was founded in Los Angeles, April, 1957 by John and Alex Siamas, in 1959 Keen issued several Stereo 45's one of which was the above in blue vinyl, they have a gold label and are true stereo. Written by Sam Cooke the song is an up tempo ballad which is sad in the lyric department but joyful in the music, with a terrific arrangement including metallic sounding bongos, backing group, and singing symbols. The 'little girl' Sam Cooke sings about in this song seems always to be eluding him, as in other songs like Wonderful World where he sings "For maybe by being an 'A'-student, baby, I can win your love for me"
