This was the first record by Lavern Baker under the name she would become famous for, previously she had been recording under various names most commonly as 'Little Miss Sharecropper'. She had four recordings released on King all only one side of the discs, the other sides being instrumentals by The Todd Rhodes Orchestra; this was the same format she was released on prior to the King records, one side vocal and the other a big band instrumental.
