DON'T YOU JUST KNOW IT * HUEY (PIANO) SMITH AND THE CLOWNS * COLUMBIA 4318 * UK

Piano player Huey Smith formed Huey 'Piano' Smith and The Clowns with singer, and female impersonator Bobby Marchan in 1957, and signed with Johnny Vincent's Ace Records out of Jackson, Mississippi. High Blood Pressure / Don't You Just Know It was the groups third release on Ace 545.

Released in the UK in 1958 Don't You Just Know It  is all about that age old pleasure s e x; with it's call and response on verses like "Hot on the mountain, cool in the bay, don't you just know it, The younger the coco the tighter they squeeze, don't you just know it" and added to the response was the refrain "Guba, guba, guba " (pronounced "gooba") which, I understand, was slang for, things like shagging, penis, or just plain cool.
