The Clovers first recordings Yes Sir That's My Baby / When You Come Back To Me were for the Rainbow label (#122) New York, 1950; at the time the label was so small they shared their premises with a deli! Don't You Know I Love You the groups next record the following year was for Atlantic, the song lyrics were written by label owner Ahmet Ertegun under the nom de plume Nugetre (his name spelt backwards), Ertegun actually wrote eight of the groups first nine records for the label including Yes It's You which was the B side of their sixth release.
