Released on Winston Blake's Merritone label JA, this heavy Rock Steady cut is a bold and straight forward homage to the revered herb marijuana and is rated by some as the first ever in that genre. Marijuana, or Ganja, as it is more commonly known as in Jamaica, grows naturally and in abundence on the island, and goes by many names, such as, Collie, or Colly, Weed, or Herb; Solomon Herb; Weed of Wisdom; Ishence; Kaya; Sensemina; Jerusalem Bred, Kings Bread and Lambs Bread. Many of these traditional names can be found mentioned in the songs from the 1960s onwards.
