Lost a scorching Soul ballad was Jerry Butler's first solo release after departing from the Impressions, it peaked at number 17 on the Billboard R&B charts. Although he had a fair share of his singles released in the UK Lost was not one of them, he was to have three more singles on the Abner imprint before being released on VeeJay.
