YOUR NOT TO BLAME * ALTON ELLIS * ISLAND 241* UK

Not an instrumental but a top B side to one, this cut  has a lovely 'lolloping' bass line, with a sharp trumpet solo in the break. Only after years of rejecting many Jamaican records, by just listening to the first few lines of the song, I realized that some of the 'duffer' vocal tracks can be thoroughly redeemed by a exciting instrumental break. The above Alton Ellis cut, a Treasure Isle production, is both a good vocal and instrumental.
