No cannon of skinhead Reggae would be complete without the inclusion of Liquidator, this record, along with a handful of others like Tighten Up and Return To Django were the pillars of the skinhead musical oeuvre.
Produced by Harry Johnson Liquidator is an organ led instrumental played by Winston Wright on the song What Am I To Do written by Tony Scott that was also recorded and produced by Johnson.
The Harry J All Stars were the Harry Johnson house band with various members, who were, on this cut, The Hippy Boys with Aston Barrett; bass, Carlton Barrett; drums, and Alva Lewis; guitar, the Hippy Boys were later to become The Upsetters.
Aston Barrett's bass line was used by the American Pop Gospel group The Staple Singers on their 1972 Stax release I'll Take You There.
Liquidator Liquidator was also pressed on the green and silver Harry J label (see below).
