Born Victor I. Hoagland Sr, in Brunswick, New Jersey, Hogay Lands, cut his first record in the late 1950s for the Ivory label, he then went on to record briefly for Judi, ABC-Paramount, M-G-M and Atlantic before signing with Laurie in 1966 where he had five singles released. After leaving Laurie he signed with Spectrum in 1969 who put out six 45s including the up-tempo Soul scorcher Do You Know What Life Is All About a heart rending tale of of penury, hardship and loss.
