Although the title of this record Stoned Out Of My Mind seems to suggest that it might be about drugs, it is in fact not about narcotics as such. The singer is in fact 'high' - as in a narcotic induced state of euphoria - not because of those naughty Persian's, but, on that old black magic called love, you follow that man, err where was I, it was at this time though that Creadel Jones (one time member of the Enchanters) left the group due to problems with drug addiction. Chi-Lites records, or rather tapes, cropped up as the music of choice for the bail bondsman Max Cherry - played by Robert Foster - in the 1977 film Jackie Brown.
