Harold Melvin And The Bluenotes sixth release for Philadelphia International label, I Miss You was their first release for the label in April 1972, it was also, despite having many records issued, as the Blue Notes, in the USA from the mid 1950s, the groups British debut on wax. Where Are All My Friends is a variant on the perennially relevant equation: money = friends, no money = no friends, type song, most notably Nobody Want's You When Your Down And Out. On this top draw recording the song is sung with what sounds like the conviction of bitter experience from lead singer Teddy Pendergrass,
