BORN FREE * MICHAEL ROSE * BOSS * JA

As the label says, Boss. Born Free is one of those, and there are many, timeless tracks that tend to always give the listener a positive feeling of well being and optimism whenever it is heard. The singer/songwriter and one time member of Black Uhuru Michael Rose grew up in the tough Kingston 11 (Waterhouse) neighborhood during the 1960s where as a young man he was attracted to the Rastafarian way of life. Much of his subsequent work reflects the ideology that underpins the Rastafarian belief system and way of life and as such the song Born Free is a fine example.
