It is said that  Know For I was Herman Davis aka Bongo Herman and Eric 'Bingy Bunny' Lamont's first recording together. Written by Bongo Herman and produced by Derrick Harriott the song is an obvious deference to the Rastafarian movement; the For I in the title being a corruption of Far I, in Rastafarian. Hand-drummer and percussionist Bongo Herman and guitarist Bingy Bunny are proselytising for the, then, little known outside of the West Indies, belief system.
