A Studio One production and released on Muzik City in Jamaica, this apocalyptic moral tale of  the downfall of mankind has Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh singing counterpoint, while the musical background is a steady and foreboding Rock Steady beat. Sinner Man is a traditional Spiritual song possibly dating from the late 19th early 20th century and has been recorded by many artists in various genres since, though it was most probably Nina Simone's 1962 recording that had the most influence on The Wailers recording. The record was released as a B side on both Island and, shortly after on Ska Beat (see below).
