TALKING BLUES * I ROY * TUFF GONG * JA
Most early DJ cuts have the DeeJay toasting in-between the verses of the song, so retaining the original vocals to which their voice was an enlargement of the original but by the time I Roy Dee Jay'd over this track many DJ's were just toasting over the original rhythm, as is the case with this cut above. This particular form of Dee Jaying is then more like another layer than an enlargement, not that either is the right, or even preferable way, as both have their top and duff versions. Another aspect of this record is the lack of correct information on the label, as is found on many records, British and Jamaican, it would be impossible for the fan or collector of I Roy to know, without prior information, that he Dee Jay's on this cut.
