As was the case for many Brunswick Soul records of the period behind this recording was the magnificent trio of Sonny Sanders, Carl Davis and Eugene Record, the song was written by Sanders and Record, the production was Davis and Record, with arrangements by Sonny Sanders. They really should have been household names considering the wealth of records they wrote, arranged, produced and even sung on. Released on Brunswick 55399 in the US Am I The Same Girl is a class platter from which the backing track became the instrumental Soulful Strut.
