Recorded live in 1959 Exactly Like You is a sweet and Jazzy Soul ballad with classy piano playing and heart felt singing from Nina Simone. It was first released on her 1959 Colpix album Nina Simone at Town Hall (New York) and finally released as a 45 on the Colpix 'Torchlight Series' in 1963. Released in the UK in 1965
Exactly Like You was written by Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields in 1930 and first sung in the Broadway show International Revue.
Of interest to collectors, it seems that Colpix released their Promotion copies with a solid center and the regular issue with a push out center (see below).
