I'm not sure what feminist's in the late 1960s would have made of the title of this record, but I think that it is safe to say that now in a 'post feminist' age the song's title would not necessarily be viewed in the same way. The song was written by fellow Miamians Clarence Reid and Willie Clarke, whom she had previously recorded for on their Deep City imprint it was a minor hit for her and the nascent Miami based Alston label.
