The Gypsies were Lestine Johnson, sisters Betty Pearce, Ernestine Pearce and Shirley Pearce, they cut five records, four for Old Town - It's A Woman's World (You Better Believe It) was the third - and one for Caprice. The sisters Pearce, along with Viola Billups went on to form the Flirtations in 1966.
As to their assertion that 'It's a woman's world' I think that James Brown and Irma Thomas (see below) would disagree.
