Although this is a lesser known cut of It's In His Kiss, renamed The Shoop Shoop Song and made famous by Betty Everett. For some time, after the question of who cut the original version, there followed a debate about whether Ramon King or Betty Everett cut the second - a bit like the part in Aquinas's Summa Theologica of 1270 "Can several angels be in the same place?" - both were cover versions which really is all that matters; though the weight of opinion seems to come down on Betty Everett's coming out before Ramon King's.
I would say the difference in the three recordings could be summed up as Ramon King's being the lighter more Poppy version, Mary Clayton's original being more Funky and Betty Everett's being darker, more probing. All three versions are good Soul records, which one folk prefer sometimes comes down to simply which one they heard first.
