I never took that much notice of the Beatles, but I do have a memory of Paul McCartney saying that Ramona King recorded the original version of this song, her version came out on Warner Brothers as It's In His Kiss but it was Betty's Vee Jay cut that was played in the Mecca Ballrooms and had the Mod's dancing. But it turned out latter that very few people in Britain knew about Mary Clayton's original version.

Originally released in the US on VJ 585, in February 1964, and in the UK on Stateside, 10th April the same year. It was re issued on President four years later in September 1968, where they chose to reverse the order of the tittle (see below) backed with her excellent recording of Getting Mighty Crowded.
