NO SAD SONG * SYDNEY GEORGE AND JACKIE * SUMMIT 8528 * UK

Sidney Crooks, George Dekker and Jackie Robinson, a. k a. The Pioneers, with their Reggae version of the Soul song originally recorded by Oscar Toney Jnr. and Joe Simon. It was put out on the B side at a time when the issuing of records with two different tracks, traditionally one fast and one slow, was about to change, at least as far as Jamaican records were concerned, for good and the B side was to be replaced by the ubiquitous Version. It is more than likely that many of the fine B sides to come out on Jamaican records prior to this period might never have been issued at all were the practice of Version to have been adopted earlier.
