BE-BOP-A-LULA * GENE VINCENT AND HIS BLUE CAPS * CAPITOL 14599 * UK

Be-Bop-A-Lula was Gene Vincent's first release and the 'Bop' stayed with him for a while. It was first recorded as a demo for Capitol on April 9, 1956 at a session which included Race With The Devil and the country ballad I Sure Miss You. When the group eventually re-cut the three songs on May 4th 1956, under the direction of Owen Bradley, they added a fourth number Woman's Love which was originally planed as the A side of Be-Bop-A-Lula but became the B side.

Originally released in the US on Capitol F3450, in May 1956, and in the UK June 1956, on both 78 and 45 RPM.
