LAWDY, MISS CLAWDY * ELVIS PRESLEY * HIS MASTERS VOICE 408 * UK

Lawdy, Miss Clawdy was released in the USA in August 1956 on RCA Victor 6642 and just over one year later in the UK in October 1957 as the B side to Trying To Get To You; it was to be the penultimate Elvis on the mauve HMV label in the UK. Written and originally recorded by Lloyd Price in 1952 Elvis Presley's version is 'brighter' and slightly faster than the more Bluesy and sleazier original but has lots of distinctive Elvis' country boy charm to it.
