MEAN, MEAN MAN * WANDA JACKSON * CAPITOL 15176 * UK

Wanda Jackson wrote this hot rockin' Rockabilly song herself after, it is said, her father had suggested it! Not the sort of sentiments your average 'pot n pan' would suggest to his daughter, he must have been a top geezz. Coupled with Honey Bop her previous American release Mean, Mean Man was released in Britain in 1960 and although it came when the Rock and Roll era was on the wane it still made an impact on British audiences entering the charts - though not very high and not for long - twice in 1961.
