TUTTI FRUTTI * LITTLE RICHARD * LONDON 8366 * UK

Tutti Frutti was Little Richard's first release on Art Rupe's Specialty label in the US, it was a sanitized version of the song of the same name that, originally recorded by Slim & Slam in 1938, had become something of a slack, bar room number by the 1950s, although there seems to be a lot of leeway in the song even in this version; consider the term 'fruit' was in use then as an allegory for a homosexual.
