TELL HIM I'M NOT HOME * CHUCK JACKSON * WAND 132 * USA

Released on the Stateside label in Britain with a different B side, the song was covered three years later by Ike and Tina Turner and released on Warner Brothers in the UK. Chuck is singing about how whenever he rings up some bird he fancies he can hear her in the background saying "Tell him I'm not home". Arrghhh. . . rejection, these songs certainly hit the (not so) sub-conscious fear spot, but why does he keep ringing, can't he get the message, or does he want to put himself through that particular nightmare every time?
