Rudy Lewis singing on this exceptionally good Drifters cut written by Pomus and Shuman and recorded in New York, September 1960. Lewis was backed up vocally by Charles Thomas (tenor), Doc Green (baritone), Ellsbury Hobbs (bass) and supplemented with Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick, Cissy Huston and Doris Troy; Burt Bacharach arranged it with Leiber and Stoller taking care of overall production. A cover version of the song in 1963 launched the career of British Pop group The Searchers taking them to the number one slot on the charts in June of that year.
