Donovan Carless had kind of an apt name for this song! Produced by Clive Chin and issued in JA on his Giant label this fine cover of the Soul song written and first recorded by William DeVaughn holds it's own against the original, and Bunny Clark's Lee Perry production, as well as the many other cover versions both Soul and Reggae. 

Acording to the man himself Donovan Carles first recorded at th eage of sixteen with Bongo Nyah a song he co-wrote with Earl 'Little Roy' Lowe.

The moral of the song, though both obvious and simple, is worth hearing over and over again as the years pass by, as it's a truism that is often lost sight of amidst the barrage of capitilist and socialist misinformation that constantly distracts and misleads the minds of folk.

 Be Thankful was also released in the UK as by Rocking Horse (see below) both versions were produced at Chin's and both versions sound the same to me, but, acording to Bob Brooks Rocking Horse is Keith Poppin and Jimmy London.
