Produced by Maurice 'Morewell' Wellington and issued on the Music Fair label JA, The Meaning Of Life by The Heptones featuring  Barry Llewelyn is not so much a philosophical treatise on existence as the title might suggest, but a simple love song which, nevertheless, has a marked spiritual and social dimension. 

The record was still popular in Jamaica some five years after its original release as can be seen by its issue on Morwells J. B. imprint in 1978 (see below).
