RAT RACE * THE DRIFTERS * LONDON ATLANTIC 9750 * UK

Written by Leiber, Stoller and Van McCoy, this was social comment that was easily understood by the young, mostly working class, Mods in Great Britain who had taken this type of music, and the Drifters in particular to be their own. This has Rudy Lewis singing those scorching soulful lead vocals. (Allen) Ginsburg's theorem goes a little further, something like, "You can't win, you can't break even, you can't even quit the race."
