A superb Bluesy Ska/Rock Steady cut, based on the Jerry Butler song I'm Telling You recorded for Vee-Jay in 1961, with a sweet and prolonged instrumental break. Me Mama Told Me was never released in the UK at the time, though I think it is now available on cd, and, if it sounds enough like the original, is well worth tracking down for.
