FAT GIRL * THE HEPTONES * MUZIK CITY * JA

Despite, or because, it being banned on the radio Fat Girl, a.k.a. Fatty, Fatty was a enormous hit and a massive seller both at home and abroad for the Heptones. They had started to record for Coxsone Dodd's Studio 1 label that same year, having first recorded for Ken Lack's Caltone label, but it was this and other cuts of theirs from this period that helped not only establish the group as one of the seminal vocal harmony groups, but also the Rock Steady sound itself.
