PRETTY THING * BO DIDDLEY * PYE INTERNATIONAL 25217 * UK

Bo Diddley's third release on the Checker label USA, it was originally backed with Bring It To Jerome, but on this first British release from almost a decade later it was backed with Road Runner. In the UK in 1963 Rhythm and Blues was at the tipping point for many young musicians and record buyers who were already looking towards this music and not Jazz (Trad) or Rock and Roll for inspiration and pleasure. At this time the new wave of British Pop bands were, almost exclusively, playing  R&B material which helped draw its existence to a wider audience; who then helped to throw open the door to a wealth of hitherto unheard black American music.
