DAYLIGHT * BOBBY WOMACK * UNITED ARTISTS 36098 * UK

This record, I believe, gives an insight into Bobby Womack's behaviour and attitudes; the song is about how certain social beings feel - those who tend to live their life from sun-down to sun-up - and how their enjoyment of the 'night life' is always tempered with a little unease or guilt at not conforming. The song is exemplary in that its tempo corresponds to the slowed down pace that those folk, who in the early daylight hours are the last to leave a house party, tend to dance at: it's not anything like a stomper nor is it a ballad but a mellow, easy and laid back rhythm that those dancers still on the floor can, without to much physical exertion, groove to.
