CAPTIVE * LEE PERRY * UPSETTER * JA
Lee 'Scratch' Perry on the threshold of his late period, things were getting out of control and the Black Ark was nearing its end, still amongst all the mayhem and confusion Lee Perry still managed to produce some sensational and important music. For me Captive is an interesting cut as it embodies much of what he had achieved in the period up to its release, and, more importantly, was a foundation stone for much that was to follow both musically and ideologically.
