This hard hitting song was Peter Tosh's follow up to the trenchant Maga Dog, his first solo record recorded with producer Jo Gibbs. Although he cut some seminal and exceptional records with Jo Gibbs his time with him lasted only about a year, and after parting in acrimony Peter Tosh recorded the self produced Once Bitten on the Maga Dog rhythm, aimed directly at Jo Gibbs' head.
