BLACK SOUL * PRINCE BUSTER AND THE ALL STARS * FAB 102 * UK

Fast Early Reggae rhythm on a familiar tune, with a heavy and prominent brass input on this late 1960s Prince Buster instrumental. In 1966, during the demise of  Blue Beat label - partly due to the name Blue Beat being no longer relevant to the music - Melodisc launched the first series of the Fab label - although except for radio Dee Jays and other media types the word Fab had no cultural cache by then, if it ever had outside of a few hip 'swingers' in Liverpool in the early 1960', anyway certainly not with Reggae fans - none the less despite the naff name the label was successful enough to run for something like three hundred issues lasting up until 1972.
