HEY GOOD LOOKIN' * BO DIDDLEY * CHESS 8000 * UK

The first release on the British Chess imprint, Hey Good Lookin' marks a slight musical shift for Bo Diddley; there is still the unmistakeable beat, and uncompromising lyrics, but the overall sound is a little softer, more in keeping with the Soul vernacular beginning to make its mark on the recording industry. Maybe this was the reason it was a minor hit with the British record buying public, reaching number 39 on the Charts in the spring of 1965.
