After recording for Vee Jay and Constellation in 1966 Gene Chandler signed with another famous Chicago label: Checker. Produced by Carl Davis the up-tempo It's Time To Settle Down was his fourth of five for the label.
It's a great Soul track but marks a time of change for the famous Blues and R&B label with the use violins on their records the writing on the wall for it's demise.
