The fiery Gospel inspired He Is Real was the first recording by The Maytals to be produced by Prince Buster, all releases up to then had been produced either by Coxsone Dodd or Vincent Chinn. He Is Real was released in Jamaica on Buster's Wild Bells label backed with Domino the same as it is on this Blue Beat issue, it was re-issued a short time later as the B side to Jamaica Ska, by Prince Buster and The Maytals also on Wild Bells.
