Try Me, a beautiful Doowop ballad, was James Brown's eleventh release for Sydney Nathan's Federal imprint, his second number 1 R&B hit; and the best selling R&B record of the year. Five years after its release, in 1963 James Brown launched the short lived 'Try Me' label.
