AIN'T THAT BAD * THE HEPTONES * CALTONE 105 * UK

The B side to School Girls performed here by The Heptones with Tommy McCook & The Supersonics, and produced by Blondel Calnek, a. k. a. Ken Lack, for his Caltone label JA. The Heptones cut their first records for Caltone before moving on to Coxsone Dodd's Studio 1; Ain't That Bad being possibly their first release. Although the name Ken Lack is not too well known he did record some of the best names in Jamaican popular music that were around, including: Max Romeo, Ken Booth, Larry Marshall, The Clarendonians, The Pioneers, The Tartans and, of course The Heptones, with backing often by Tommy McCook & The Supersonics or Lynn Taitt's band.
