The Punk and New Wave revolution brought about an increase in the amount of small independent labels in Great Britain (something that was more or less the norm with black music in Jamaica, America, and even England) along with this explosion in small labels came a revived interest in Jamaican music, a fraction of which found its way onto those labels.
