Phyllis Dillon only recorded for Duke Reid, her Perfidia rates, for me, as one of the all time best Rock Steady tracks. In the style of her voice she owes, certainly on this track, something to Dionne Warwick, yet it is sweeter and has slightly more emotional depth. The song is adapted from the 1961 Shirelles cut A Thing Of The Past. The first release of this record in the UK was as a B side on the brief all orange Trojan label with 'A Duke Reid Production Jamaica' as part of the logo (see below) this part of the logo was blacked out after several pressings and latter removed altogether. Notice also the misspelling of her name.
