AFRICAN HERBSMAN * BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS * UPSETTER 392 * UK

Written  and first recorded in 1968 by Richie Havens as Indian Rope Man, this adaptation of the song by Bob Marley And The Wailers was cut for Lee Perry c1970. There is some confusion over what Bob Marley actually sings though, as the these three (the first three I came across on the net) different versions of the lyrics show, and these are just the opening lines !

All twinklin' lee Can't see the right when the streams abate.

All twinklin' lee Can't see the right rose when the streams abate.

Oh twinkling we Can't see the right roads when the streets are big.
